You can deposit a cheque free of charge either straight through your app or via post.
Cheques up to £500 - You can deposit through app
Log into your app, click the menu, then select Add money and choose Cheque Deposit. Take a clear photo of your cheque with all information legible and you are done!
Cheques over £500 - Must be sent via post only
To post your cheque just pop it in an envelope addressed to 'Freepost STARLING' (no stamp required). Make sure to put your surname and eight digit Starling account number on the back of each cheque. Please allow a few days for us to receive the cheque via post. Time frames may vary depending on how it's sent and where it's being sent from. If you would like your cheque to arrive sooner than three days you have the option to pay to send it via first class post.

What cheques do you accept?
Please note that we only accept cheques dated within the last 6 months. All cheques must be in GBP, we do not currently accept cheques in any other currency.
When will I receive my cheque payment via app?
This is normally two working days after the cheque has been deposited (if you’re sending your cheque by post it will take two working days from the point we receive your cheque). Please hold on to the physical cheque until you’re sure the money has cleared (we’ll send you a push notification when that happens).
